John will be attending the awards ceremony and also performing at the Classical Music Showcase a brand new piece for guitar and electronics called “Orchestral Commission.” This work uses a computer to process Oliver’s guitar performance to create orchestral doubling and accompaniment. Oliver explores sample-based orchestration using Ableton LIVE software with Max-for-LIVE plugins. Oliver uses the same tools as many DJs and other creative computer-musicians to play an orchestra in realtime.

Come see the showcase on Saturday October 5, 2 pm at Festival Hall, 1214 10th Ave SE, Calgary, AB. FREE ADMISSION.
