Flight 182 Meditations premiere and CD launch with poet Renée Sarojini Saklikar

Join award winning poet Renée Saklikar and renowned composer John Oliver for the Vancouver premiere of Flight 182 Meditationsan immersive experience of soundscapes interwoven with poems from Saklikar's long poem children of air india: un/authorized exhibits and interjections. about the bombing of Air India Flight 182. The raw voice of the poet is the instrument for a new sonic journey.

These performances and CD launch mark the 30th anniversary of the Air India bombing, which is June 23, 2015.

The CD and these performances represent the culmination of two years of working together to create these memorials in sound.
Those who saw us perform at the 2013 and 2014 editions of the New West Lit Fest will want to hear the new complete work in performance and on CD.

The New Westminster performance is presented as a benefit for The Shiloh Sixth Avenue United Church.

The Vancouver performance is presented in partnership between the Vancouver Public Library and TWS (The Writer's Studio) at SFU. Part of the Vancouver Public Library series celebrating SFU The Writer's Studio's 15th anniversary.
